SITE FACILITIES

Shelters & Buildings

We have a range of shelters and buildings available to book during your stay. These multi-use spaces offer protection from the elements and are perfect as a base between activities.

The Richards’ Barn

The Richards’ Barn is our newest building. Located in the middle of our site, it is a great multifunctional space that can be used flexibly to support your trip to Walton Firs, including for meetings, storage, dining, or simply a space to shelter from the weather. It also doubles as our air rifle shooting range!

Outdoor Classroom

The Outdoor Classroom is located next to the car park and offers a sheltered seating area that can be used for activities, dining, protection from weather, or as a meeting point. If you would like to use the Outdoor Classroom as part of your programme, it can be booked for free.

Welcome Barn

The Welcome Barn is located next to the car park and offers a sheltered seating area that can be used for activities, dining, protection from weather or as a meeting point. If you would like to use the Welcome Barn as part of your programme, it can be booked for free.

The Chapel

Nestled among the trees is our open-air retreat. Fitted with benches, it can seat approximately 30 people and can also be used as a classroom.

Campfire Circle

Tucked away in a corner of the site, our campfire circle can be booked out by groups at reception. The circle is free to use and can cater for groups of all sizes and ages.

Parking & Site Security

Our main car park is available for drop off and pick up and can happily accommodate coaches. Once unloaded or at busy times, we ask all coaches use the coach turning points, part way up the drive, to ensure adequate space and safety in the car park. We also have an overflow car park in one of our fields, available for larger bookings or on busier days.

The entire Walton Firs site is surrounded by a robust perimeter fence and key areas are also covered by CCTV. A duty manager is always on site should any of our guests have a security-related query.

Reception & Shop

Our reception desk is manned 9am-6pm during the week with a duty manager on call at weekends. All groups should report to reception when they arrive. Any queries about first aid can be made at Reception or with the Duty Manager.

Our site shop is open upon request and provides badges, sweets, drinks and ice creams. Bottled gas is also available to purchase in a range of sizes. Please enquire at Reception before your visit, or ask the Duty Manager.

Fridge and freezer, waste disposal & water taps

There is a freezer and a refrigerator for campers to use, which can be found in the Service Crew porch. Anything left in the fridge/freezer is left at your own risk and responsibility.

We have facilities available for the disposal of rubbish and ash from camp fires. Our commercial refuse area is located within the main car park and all rubbish is collected weekly. Bins for disposing of ash are also available next to the woodpile.

There are four drinking water taps across the site. They are located close to our camp sites and indoor accommodation.

Toilet block/showers

Our main toilet block features male, female and fully accessible disabled facilities and is fitted with underfloor heating. Showers are also available in this block, located next to the car park. The building can also be opened up if being used by a single gender group, therefore providing more toilet facilities.

In summer (or on request in winter), additional showers and toilets are also available at the lower toilet block near the Pembroke building.

First Aid Kits and Defibrillator

Although we hope nothing will go wrong, we have planned for the worst, so if there is an emergency and you require a first aid kit, they are located in the service crew hut porch. Here you will also find a fully automated defibrillator.
