Child Protection Policy and Procedures
Statement of Intent
The Walton Firs Foundation is committed to safeguarding children and young people.
We recognise that the work we undertake with children and young people at Walton Firs Activity Centre is the responsibility of our Trustees/Directors of the Foundation, our staff and volunteers.
Welfare is paramount and we are committed to implementing procedures and maintaining a code of conduct, which is based on government guidance, "Working Together to Safeguard Children 2006”, or as subsequently amended, with the intention of ensuring that no child or young person using the Centre’s facilities be placed at risk of harm.
We undertake to ensure that for all Trustees/Directors, staff and volunteers references are taken up and checks are made through the Criminal Records Bureau, or such other agency as may be designated from time to time.
We will ensure access to appropriate Child Protection training for all Trustees/Directors, staff and volunteers.
We will respond without delay to any complaint made that a child or young person visiting the Centre may have been harmed.
We will fully co-operate with statutory agencies during any investigation.
