Camping and Accomodation


Camping Ground

There are 28 acres of camping ground. The site is divided into field or woodland sites of various sizes. Each site has fire holes for open fires. Water taps are located on each field.

Buildings

There are three fully equipped accommodation buildings on site at Walton Firs Activity Centre. Each building has a fridge, a freezer, a large gas cooker and all necessary cooking and eating utensils.

Pembroke

The Pembroke Building provides indoor accommodation for a maximum of 34 young people and leaders (a minimum charge for a group of 24 will be made). The facilities include a fully equipped kitchen and a large main room for dining which is equipped with tables and chairs, both have electric heaters. There is also a toilet for night use. Sleeping quarters consist of 5 rooms with 6 beds and 2 rooms with 2 beds (all bunk beds). You will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows.  
This building is adjacent to a toilet block.

Brunswick

The Brunswick Building provides indoor accommodation for a maximum of 24 young people and leaders (a minimum charge for a group of 22 will be made). The facilities include a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area which is equipped with tables and chairs, and electric heaters are in all rooms. A  toilet and hand basin are available for visitors with special needs. Sleeping quarters consist of 3 rooms with 6 beds, 1 room with 4 beds and 1 room with 2 beds (all bunk beds). You will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows. 

Training Hut

The Training Hut provides indoor accommodation for a maximum of 36 young people and leaders (a minimum charge for a group of 24 will be made). The facilities include a large main hall that can be used for indoor training or as sleeping quarters. The building has a fully equipped kitchen, shower and toilet facilities and there are gas and electric heaters.  Sleeping quarters for leaders consist of a leaders’ room with 4 beds (bunk beds) and camping mats are provided for the main hall.  You will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows.  The Training Hut is also equipped with a projector and other teaching resources.
